Aren't I rubbish?

How rubbish am I? My last post was waaaaaay back when - 7th January!

But here goes a quick update...

1. I return to work shortly; I went for two interviews for the same jobs within the same organisation and got one! I'm just awaiting a start date.

2. We went away to Somerset, and had a lovely few days, wine, cider, good food, log burning fires and the animals!

3. Running is going well, despite a few niggles of pain; My 5K is looking very achievable, and thanks to a friend I am now running a half marathon; it is the week before!

They seem to be the main pointers!

The knitting is going well, I have been able to sell some of my items to raise funds for Meningitis UK.

I shall be back more regular now!

First full week

Here it goes. The first full week with no holidays - just normal days; time for productivity, time for me.
I'm trying to get a positive mindset in place. So this morning I'm up, I'm in the kitchen looking out of the window at the fun the squirrels are having in our garden, whilst eating my toast and drinking coffee. I need a routine in place!
Today is looking to be a busy one. I have my first CBT appointment this morning, then I'm meeting a friend for lunch and then this evening I am at running club, so whilst my day doesn't feature a working day it's still a busy one.
Also, last night I started completing a nation careers service skills health-check; it was getting late and really I need to complete it. So that is my plan... Get my skills set checked. May as well do it now!
Anyhow. That's a quick update from me... Ill be back later to pick up some stitches which have occurred of late.
Toodle-pip!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!

I've been a little m.i.a over the holiday season. Despite not really doing a lot it has been a busy season!

Firstly; dads birthday celebrations arrived! so off down to the railway we all went; and lovely it was. Dad had an additional treat - we've booked tickets to see The Moody Blues at the O2 area in June! He wasn't expecting it at all, and was very excited!!!

Christmas itself was lovely - a little difficult as M and I don't live together, so there is always the difficulty of who is going where and when. But we now seem to have got into a routine where M comes to mine for a Christmas dinner on Christmas eve, then goes home so he has Christmas morning and dinner with his family and then I go over there for the other holiday - days.

New Years was a party at our friends - we had such a lovely time; here are the Fireworks we had in the back garden.... joke...

Happy New Year!

One of my NY resolutions was to start running; I am signing myself up to run a 5K in October in support of the Meningitis charity... Here is a link to my Just Giving Page if you feel so inclined! the page hasnt been fully formatted yet, but bear eith me!

Kissing it Better

I've been watching the news this morning and seen an item about a scheme called "Kissing it Better"www.kissingitbetter.co.uk. it details the work of local individuals, schools and businesses who go into hospitals and interact with the patients.  It was a very moving piece, and I can see how these interactions would be beneficial to patients, not only at Christmas, which for some can be a very lonely time, but throughout the year.

I've been away... and now I'm back

I haven't blogged for a while.  There has been quite a lot going on.  As I had mentioned in an earlier post I was about to go back to work; or was looking to discuss my return to work... Well on that case, I returned to work and due to restructuring I was made redundant. I know, close to Christmas many would consider this to be a bad thing. However, I am taking the positive stance and considering this instead to be a chance for me to try something new. So my something new is I am looking to get into teaching - secondary schools. Watch this space!

On the knitting front, the knitting has been keeping me going.  I have completed a hat; and I have completed a coat for a Chihuahua!

On my personal feelings front. I'm a little up and down to be honest. For the first time I saw my diagnosis written down in black and white. "Anxiety and Depression" it never seemed real until that moment and it shocked me. I feel a lot of the time I am writing what has already been written by someone else, but at the same time I don't know how to really put into words how I feel. Confused I think covers it!

I haven't abandoned you!

I haven't abandoned you on purpose! There has been a lot going on, and a lot to sort out; I will be back soon! X
